Our History in Brief
Geomatikk was founded in 2005 in Norway, establishing itself as a specialized provider of network protection services for underground assets. In these early years, the company built its core expertise in cable and pipe location services and digitization of infrastructure mapping, laying the foundation for what would become a comprehensive approach to infrastructure protection.
From early on, Geomatikk invested significantly in developing proprietary technology platforms for infrastructure management while simultaneously building a comprehensive database of underground infrastructure. Geomatikk transformed from a service-only organization into a leading provider of both services and software solutions. This evolution saw the development of specialized infrastructure management software (IMS) and the creation of digital solutions for network documentation and protection.
In more recent years, Geomatikk has accelerated its expansion through strategic acquisitions of complementary companies. A significant milestone came with the partnership with private equity firm Hg Capital in 2021, providing additional resources to fuel growth and innovation. This has enabled Geomatikk to extend its operational footprint across Norway, Sweden, Finland, and into Denmark and Spain.
